Today, we understand that substance addiction is a complex condition caused by a variety of factors. While initial use may have been voluntary, changes to the brain because of chronic drug or alcohol use make it nearly impossible to stop drinking or using without professional help. That is why addiction treatment is a vital step on the road to a lifetime of recovery and sobriety.
Addiction treatment does not look the same for every client since everyone comes to us with a unique combination of concerns, issues and goals for recovery. To address those needs on a personal level, New Vista Behavioral Health provides a variety of locations, treatment approaches and levels of care. We can help you get the treatment that matches your situation and ensures your long-term sobriety best.
Choices in Care
New Vista Behavioral Health offers the following options in levels of patient care:
Inpatient or residential programs require the client to live at the treatment center for a period. This level of care features 24-hour medical and emotional support for clients as they begin their recovery journey. When you choose inpatient treatment, you can focus solely on your newfound sobriety as long as you are at the center.
What is included?
Our inpatient programs incorporate these components:
- Supervised detoxification
- Medication management
- Individual and group therapy sessions
In addition to these essential elements of inpatient treatment, our centers offer a variety of complementary therapies that allow clients to focus on healing the mind, body and spirit as the work on long-term sobriety. These might include educational activities, physical fitness and nutritional assessments. Family counseling is a vital addition for some clients, while stress identification and management can help individuals find healthy ways to deal with the daily rigors of life. Other modalities that might be utilized during inpatient treatment might include:
- Art and music therapies
- Drama therapy, psychodrama and Gestalt
- Mindfulness training, including yoga and meditation
- Massage therapy and acupuncture
- Equine therapy
There are also specific therapies we offer to accommodate the needs of all our clients:
- Cognitive behavioral therapy
- Dialectical behavioral therapy
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Relapse analysis and prevention
We provide both 12-step and non-12-step programs as well, to ensure our clients have the support they need while in treatment and after returning home to increase the odds of long-lasting successful recovery.
What are the benefits?
There are numerous advantages clients gain from inpatient treatment. The structure of the program, as well as the complete isolation from drugs, alcohol and potential triggers, allow you to focus on your recovery without unnecessary distractions. While you are living at our center, you will learn healthy habits to keep you on track once you return home. You can also make new friends with goals similar to your own, overcoming addiction and embracing a sober lifestyle.
There are different types of outpatient programs, but they all have one primary characteristic in common; the ability for you to maintain your home and work life while you are working out your recovery. These programs may be beneficial to those who have completed residential treatment and are looking for intensive support as they transition back to their daily lives. It can also be a choice if you cannot afford residential treatment or are unable to leave their families, jobs or other obligations for an extended period.
New Vista Behavioral Health offers these choices in outpatient services:
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
During this program, you can live at home while attending rehab. The program is intense, with patients spending up to six hours daily at the center except for weekends and holidays. While you are at our facility, you will participate in many of the same therapies as our residential clients, including group and individual counseling, family counseling, and complementary treatments. This program can be customized to your precise needs, as you participate in the therapies that offer you the greatest benefit.
Intensive Outpatient Therapy (IOP)
This structure is similar to PHP, but you will spend fewer hours at the center and more time at your home or job each day. If you have a strong support network outside of your addiction treatment and you are able to manage medications on your own, IOP may be the right choice for you.
The approach to outpatient services is less intense than the other outpatient options, leaving more responsibility on the client to participate and reap the benefits. However, for those looking for additional support as they move from our other programs, outpatient therapy can be an excellent transitional choice. It can also be successful for clients that are unable to commit to the other levels of care for a variety of reasons.
Whether you opt for residential treatment or one of our outpatient programs, the team at New Vista Behavioral Health is equipped to provide you with all the support and therapy options necessary to get you started on your recovery journey.
